skin creamsIt's that time of year when skin creams become incredibly important because the air outdoors and indoors is bone dry. When I was shopping online for new skin creams for the season, I found this beautiful dispenser and decided to buy it for our guest bathroom where we like to have attractive displays of useful products for the folks who come to visit. We have skin creams and lip creams in practically every room in the house because our skin dries out so much when we kick the furnace on.

I've never used this particular body lotion before. It's called the Lolita Lempicka Body Cream and this bottle holds 10 ounces. I really like the smell of Lolita Lempicka perfume, so I imagine the skin creams in this line use the same scent. Her products are excellent, and the skin creams are bound to be high quality, too. I'll probably be popping into the guest bath a couple of times a day to use this body lotion for myself, too.

Each year I go through the house and replace the last year's skin creams with new ones so they are always fresh. I read where makeup and skin creams do have a shelf life, and I want to make sure that all our skin creams are fresh. The products inside the body lotions do get absorbed by the skin, so fresh is important. I use a Sharpie pen to write on the bottom of the container the date that I bought it and that makes it easy to know when to toss the products.

Actually, we end up throwing very little away because we use our skin creams daily. One of the kids has a skin condition that requires her to use the creams daily, so she keeps a big supply of them in her room, the bathroom, and even in her backpack for school. She gets rashes if her skin dries out too much so we buy her skin creams in large quantities. I buy most of the skin creams online at Commanding Scents located at http://www.commandingscents.com/, a site that has tons of beauty products. It's so much easier to get these online than in the real world. In fact, my order only took a few minutes to place this morning. I didn't have to make a list, hop in the car, fight traffic on the road and in the stores and I can use the time I save by shopping online for other things, like gardening or reading. It's a win-win for everyone.
